David Baldridge: Digital Artist

Hello! My name is David Baldridge and I'm a digital freelance artist from Ohio, currently living in Japan.

Ever since I was a child I've had a passion for art and drawing. I started out by drawing pictures of my favorite cartoon characters and spent countless hours reading books on how to draw. I grew tired of copying other artist's genius and began to develop my own characters. I thrived on the praise I got from my friends and family who were impressed with my own ideas, skills, and creations. It became a way for me to communicate the ideas and characters that I would see in my imagination.

During the pursuit of my Bachelor of Arts at Bowling Green State University, where I studied digital arts and Japanese, I was introduced to D&D. Since then a passion for the game grew in me and I continue to play to this day. A part of my role in the group has always been to create and draw characters for my friends. Being able to conceptualize ideas and bring characters to life in that way has made the game so much more engaging and fun. Experiences like this have made my passion for art continue to grow. I have also illustrated books for authors and created digital artwork for app developers by using my ability to take a thought, concept, or idea and bring it to life.

My dream is to expand my creativity and skills beyond my group of friends and into the D&D community. I wish to provide others with the opportunity to witness their characters come to life. I have been steadily doing commission work for over a year. With each commission I have experienced excitement, new challenges, and incredible experiences. The clients I have had the pleasure to work with have been full of innovative and unique ideas and I worked closely with them to provide their desired character. I use an iterative approach and get familiar with their vision and adjust the character according to their feedback. I have been thrilled to have a tangible and meaningful purpose for my art. Hearing about their excitement when their dream becomes a reality gives me the greatest feeling of happiness. This is my passion and what I want to be doing for the rest of my life.

My goal is to be a full time art commissioner. I'd love to be able to focus all of my time and efforts into creating content for people to use and enjoy in their games. If you're viewing this and took the time to read this far, please shoot me an email. I'd love to collaborate with you and breathe life into your ideas!
